Welcome back to school, kids. You lucky ducks, you.
I am a college graduate. I am extremely fresh to this whole college graduate thing. Like, I still haven’t gotten my diploma in the mail.
Being a college graduate, I am now in that awkward stage of life where I have a degree and have to look for someone who will take me. (Anyone reading this who just happens to have a high-up position in communications or public relations or anything that requires writing, hello there. Please take me!)
Here are the stats so far: over 20 applications filled, 3 interview invites, 2 interviews had, 1 still to be had, 0 responses from the first 2.
I remain jobless. Now, don’t get me wrong. I understand that I’m still a fresh spring chicken to the whole job scene. Still, there is absolute pressure now.
Remember kids: school is a safety net. Stay there until you die.
Not to be pessimistic! I still have my head held high and I am still looking forward to the future.
I’m just putting it out there that this whole getting a job right out of college thing is not a sure thing.
Again, words of wisdom: stay in school. Any graduates who want to put their own two cents into the comments, feel free! I’d love to hear from others.
