Drake just released a new song (don’t ask me when but it’s new) and I can’t get enough of it.
So I decided to start a segment called Layman Reviews where I review things using my own criteria that I make up on the spot.
Everything I review will be based on a point system of out of 10.
And here it is, my layman’s review of “Fake Love”:
Good to sing in the shower? Yes (2pt)
Make you feel good walking on your school campus? Yes, straight thuggin. (5pts)
Sick beat? Yessssss (3pts)
Do you wanna be Drake? Who doesn’t? (5pts)
There you have it folks, 15 points out of 10! Go out and watch the video and listen to this
song because I like it and you should too.
Let’s just look at the opening hook:
I’ve been down so long it look like up to me
They look up to me
I got fake people showin’ fake love to me
Straight up to my face, straight up to my face
I’ve been down so long it look like up to me
They look up to me
I got fake people showin’ fake love to me
Straight up to my face, straight up to my face
Some people listen to music for the sound and others for the comfort of relatable lyrics. This song has it all.The song is all about Drake and the realization that people who supposedly respect and love him are putting up a facade. What famous musician can’t relate to that? I myself can only imagine as I am neither famous nor a musician. The bottom line? Drake is pissed off with everyone who pretends to be on his side and all of the fake love that is constantly shoved into his face. So he wrote a song about it. You can hear the anger in his voice.
Which is another reason why it got 15 out of 10 points.
What did you think about this post? Do you like this kind of review? Comment and let me know!
